Aikido
Aikido is a Japanese martial art, founded in 1942 by O’ Sensei, Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1969): Aikido as we know it today was based on O’ Sensei’s study of many of the ancient martial arts of Japan, including: Japanese sword techniques, some of which go back to the 11th century
UK Shinwakai Association
UK Shinwakai Association was formed, in 1993, under the direction of Sensei Jack Poole 7th Dan, who holds senior grades in both Yoshinkan and Aikikai styles of Aikido. The Association was established to pursue the study of Aikido through the incorporation of the structure and discipline of Yoshinkan, with the flowing movements of Traditional Aikido. Sensei Poole also wished to promote a true family spirit within the Association and over the years other like minded organisations have joined and regularly train together, in harmony
